Windsor Hotel Mural
he concept for this mural centers on connecting themes of Unity, Philadelphia, and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. We envisioned imagery that feels celebratory. Featuring crowds of people parading through the streets, alongside fireworks and stars booming in the sky capture a sense of shared energy and community. Color blocking in red, white, and blue appears throughout the composition as a reference to the American flag.
While installing the mural in the Windsor lobby, I was especially aware of how the space brings together people from many different backgrounds. The intention of the work is to reflect that same sense of connection, mirroring the way The Windsor Suites creates a shared experience for its visitors.
Another key element of the mural was highlighting the cultural landmarks along the Parkway. Institutions such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Barnes Foundation, and Calder Gardens, along with iconic public artworks like the Rocky Statue and The Thinker, are incorporated as recognizable landmarks. These references ground the mural in place and create moments of familiarity for those moving through the Parkway and in and out of The Windsor Suites.
